                           The Jacket

From the boys Point of view His clothes have always failed him . He has never received anything new , unless it was a hammy down . When his mother asked him what kind of jacket he wanted , he described a black biker jacket that had enough belts to hold down a small town . The next day he arrived home to a day old guacamole colored jacket in the Short story called  “ The Jacket “ by Gary Soto . The young boy was feeling just another moment of disappointment . This young boys mother had always bought things 2 sizes bigger so that who ever was wearing the item could use it for a longer time then they would use it if they got it in the size they really fit , because she was cheap . The young boy wore That jacket for three years straight without getting anything else between those years .The kids at school made the boy feel ashamed and poor when they laughed at him when there were fire drills going on and you had no chose but to wear your coat outside . He had expressed that he had hated those three years of his life like no other . He has also blamed those three years on his mother for being so cheap and having such bad taste. Int The This particular Short story it shows how ones ways can ruin an others .
